Handfuls of Hope partners with physicians, nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, opticians, and other medical professionals to help meet the urgent healthcare needs of underserved communities through medical mission trips. Our teams work side-by-side with local medical professionals who generously volunteer their time to care for those in need. Together, we establish makeshift clinics that become a lifeline for entire communities. For individuals who are physically unable to travel, smaller teams are mobilized to bring care directly to homes in surrounding villages. Each trip typically lasts 3–5 days, during which our teams serve thousands of men, women, and children. Clinics are fast-paced and often see entire families at once. We operate with an organized system where nurses triage patients, follow established protocols, and use clinical judgment to determine when a provider is needed. On average, our teams care for 400–800 patients per day, offering primarily primary care services that address a wide range of medical needs.
