Creative Fundraising
There are so many ways that you can help Handfuls of Hope to achieve our goals. Whether raising money for building supplies, organizing an effort to collect children's shoes or school supplies, or raising support for one of our long-term missionaries (or perhaps entering the mission field yourself), there literally is no end to the fundraising possibilities. Here are a few creative ideas to get you started:
Use technology.
When it comes to raising money, technology is our friend. Use Facebook, Twitter, and/or Pinterest to share YOUR story. When and how did you become involved with HOH? How has your involvement changed your own world view? How can you encourage others to become involved?
Set a goal, and create your own fundraising campaign using our recommended peer-to-peer fundraising tool, GroupRev. Contact us, and we'll help you get started.
Hold an eBay auction.
eBay allows you to donate all or some of the proceeds from your sales to a non-profit organization, like Handfuls of Hope. Read eBay’s “Giving Works” for more information. We would love to help you get started.
Share a skill.
What are you good at and what do you like to do? Home improvements, computers, baking, photography, decorating, gardening, accounting, housecleaning, babysitting? You can offer these services to help others—and raise money in the process.
Host a home party or home demonstration.
Combine your gift of hospitality with your passion to serve. Invite family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Explain the work that Handfuls of Hope is doing, why it is important to you, and how your guests can help. This could be a casual dinner party, or a coffee and dessert get-together. Perhaps arrange a demonstration of products like housewares, jewelry, purses, food products or makeup, with proceeds going to HOH. Here is an idea... YOU arrange the event, invite YOUR guests, and WE will help with the presentation.
Organize a restaurant fundraising event
Many restaurant chains offer easy-to-organize fundraising opportunities. You arrange the date and time, encourage all your friends, family and co-workers to attend, and the restaurant donates a percentage of the proceeds to Handfuls of Hope. Here is a short list of restaurants that offer fundraising programs: Chipotle, Panera Bread, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Applebee's, TGI Friday's.
Matching gifts
Many corporations offer matching funds for non-profit organizations. Check with your employer to see if they have a matching gifts program and to inquire about eligibility requirements.

Help Us Spread the Word
Speak to your pastor or church mission committee and arrange for an HOH representative to give a brief presentation to your congregation.
